On Nov 4, 2025, vote for someone that does!
Elementary school students are forced to walk up to 2.5 miles based on a NJ busing law made in 1967. SPF should provide past a mile, but does not. And the safety of our children is at stake. Back in 1967, the town population was much less, the traffic was much less, and most families only had one working parent and one that drove kids to school. This si 2025, a lot has changed in 58 years. But one thing that hasn't is the bare minimum busing requirement.
Our school system used to be one of the best in the state and has since dropped in rank dramatically. What is being done to assure our current and future teaching staff has the best resources available to them and are we assuring our students are receiving the best programs we can give. Programs cost money, but is the board budgeting hte money for the good and welfare of our town? Or are we just accepting the proposed costs and budgets with no contest.
Our town is becoming overcrowded due to the the Mt. Laurel mandate as well as deals between developers and officials. Why aren’t we putting these developers on the hook to fund school infrastructure expansion, instead of current tax payers?
Last year the school system leveraged the Honeywell alert system to get all the parents of school kids to vote for the referendum to purchase a new building at a crazy cost. But the rest of the SPF community did not get the Honeywell call to go out an vote. Is this right?
There’s very little transparency in what the current School Board shares with the public. Wouldn’t you want to be in the know? Major purchases and expenses are being greenlighted without REALLY getting the best bid pricing possible. Why?
